Tim & Julia had a Tipi wedding in Kent on a warm Saturday in July. Tim & Julia both grew up in the UK but met in Australia and have lived there together with their much loved dog over the last few years. I’m friends with Julia’s Bridesmaid Megan who recommended me and I was so pleased I got to be part of this day! The whole day was based at Julia’s Parent’s beautiful home at the foot of the Wye Downs. I didn’t even realise at the time but in my first picture of the day from the top of the downs (the devils kneading trough) you can see the tipi in Julia’s Parent’s grounds that they had their reception in. Boys and girls prep was fun and relaxed and the ceremony took place in Julia’s Parent’s Barn which had been lovingly decorated by the couple and their family and friends. After the ceremony there was an afternoon tea in the gardens. There was a swimming pool in the garden and I just about resisted the urge to cool off (it was a hot day!) A highlight was our drive up to the top of the downs where Tim and Julia had a stroll along, looked out at the best view in Kent which included their wedding beneath and walked back again! It’s special as they’ve done this walk a lot together whenever they’ve been to visit Julia’s Parents. Dinner and dancing was in the Tipi which looked fantastic! I’ve shot over 200 weddings now and I can’t believe this was my first tipi wedding! Starters were served in personalised egg boxes and the main was pulled pork which was delicious. Simply Ice Cream was served up for pudding and Tim and Julia even took a pot each and had a walk around the tipi in the evening as the sun was setting. Julia posted a lovely review saying…
Luckily a friend recommended Olly and he was the first thing we booked organising our wedding from the other side of the world in Australia. Best decision! Such amazing photos capturing the day as a whole! Neither of us like having our photo taken so the best thing was that it felt like we didn’t pose for any of them! Olly was a legend and fitted in like an old friend with all the guests. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough.
