Simon & Rachel had their wedding ceremony at St Marys Church in Chilham and then their reception at Winters Barns in Canterbury. The day started with the girls getting ready at the Salon at Winters Barns. Rachel is a teacher so Simon made Rachel her very own school style report all personalised about Rachel for her to read as she opened her presents. Rachel, her Bridesmaids and her Mum all ended up in tears after she read the report out. The ceremony took place at St Marys Church in Chilham. I covered a wedding here a few years ago and it was nice to be back. Chilham is such a beautiful little village and Simon & Rachel went for a walk around the village afterwards. A highlight was when a Chilham resident shouted at us “you’ve got to get a picture of the back of her dress!” I thanked her for her advice and the three of us laughed! Simon rescued Rachel from a bee that was on her dress. Simon got it off with his finger and the bee sat there long enough to be photographed! What a man and what a bee! In the evening I didn’t think anyone could be happier than the flower girl and page boy who made a massive £21 by selling guests sweets from the sweet table. I was wrong. Rachel and Simon were even more happy especially when Simon commandeered the venue’s bike only to realise there wasn’t any air in the trees as it was decorative and Rachel ended up laughing at him as the bike came to an abrupt stop. On the dance floor some of the band came down and played amongst the guests. Simon grabbed a ukulele from the props box and had a ukulele solo battle with one of the band members. Amazing! I hope you enjoy some of my favourite images from the day!
Rachel said “When we first started planning our wedding a good photographer was really important to us. We came across Olly on Facebook and absolutely loved his work. We arranged to meet up with him and knew immediately he had to be our photographer! In the lead up to our wedding Olly was amazing and made us feel so at ease. On the day of our wedding Olly was so incredible. We had endless laughs and our guests were very complimentary of how professional and friendly Olly was throughout. Some even thought he was our friend and we have to say he has most definitely become one. The photos are phenomenal and really tell the story of our wedding day. Thank you so much Olly!
