Owls Castle Barn is a beautiful privately owned venue in Kent and I went to do wedding photography there for Chris and Emm. Chris & Emm found me through their friends Dan & Kate who had already booked me for their wedding in September. I ended up meeting all four of them at the same time (by chance!) and really enjoyed getting to know them. Chris & Emm’s wedding day kicked off at The Retreat at Rabbit’s Corner which is a beautiful little wooden cottage tucked away in the countryside. The countryside means animals and just after Emm and Kate had had their relaxed and tranquil breakfast (al fresco) a certain chicken who goes by the name of Asbo turned up. Asbo decided to end the sedate breakfast and chase everyone around (myself included). Emm barricaded herself in the cottage as I tried to help resolve the situation (by taking pictures and running away…) Emm’s Mum Libby kept morale up. I don’t think I’ve ever met a funnier Mum before! Onto the Church- The Church of the Good Shepherd in Borough Green. At the end of the service there was an Opera Singer who sung before Chris & Emm processed back down the aisle. This was beautiful. Whilst this was going on a Pageboy was stuck trying to get up the steps in the Church to process out behind Chris & Emm and a Flower-girl came to help him up. Such a sweet moment. The reception and the rest of the day was at Owls Castle Barn. This is such a beautiful venue and in the barn for the meal and speeches was gorgeous light let in by the skylights. Usually barns can be quite dark but this was a great place for photography. One of the my favourite parts of the day was the dancefloor- it kicked off so quick! The second song was a swung version of “Rolling in the deep” by Adele. This really got the party going and the band were fantastic. Such an event filled day and so much fun to photograph! I hope you enjoy my favourite images!
Chris emailed me to say “Hi Olly, we’ve spent a couple of hours going through the photos and slideshow. Perfect. Absolutely spot on. You really captured the day. From the fun and silly photos right through the full range of emotions to the tear jerking ones! Excellent stuff. We love them”
