James & Lizzie’s Wedding at London Rowing Club was one of the best weddings I’ve photographed! I met James & Lizzie when I was photographing their friend’s wedding out in Tuscany last Summer and it was a real delight to see familiar faces from that wedding again. As I was travelling to photograph the girls getting ready in the morning the temperature on the train, tube and my walk up Richmond Hill reminded me a bit of the temperature we had when I last saw Lizzie in Italy! It was boiling! The room they got ready in at The Petersham Hotel had a balcony with views across Richmond which were stunning and even when time was getting tight before we left for the Church Lizzie was the epitome of calmness and kindness- such a sweet Bride! After the Church Ceremony at All Saints Church in Putney Common I rode in the car with James & Lizzie to The London Rowing Club. I’d been quite excited about covering this wedding because this venue is on the bank of the River Thames and the guests really enjoyed time on the balcony outside enjoying the views up and down the river. Over dinner I got to know some of James’ Groomsmen who were brilliant and then in the evening at sunset James, Lizzie and I took a stroll down the Thames. It was so beautiful! It was hard to leave the dance floor in the evening as there were lots of shapes to capture but I left feeling really happy that I got to be part of this day! James & Lizzie are lovely and this was one of those weddings where I was really able to capture real moments without people being camera aware! Here are some of my favourite images from the day.
