Mike & Caroline had their wedding at Hawksmoor Restaurant in London and it was such a privilege to do their wedding photography. There was a snow storm forecast the night before this wedding so I was getting up every few hours during the night checking the weather and in the morning the “snow storm” ended up being a few flakes on the ground! Britain and snow eh!? I made my way up to London with James. I photographed the girls and he photographed the chaps getting ready. Most out-there wedding gift award goes to Caroline for getting Mike a wooden toilet seat with Angela Merkel’s face printed onto it. Sehr gut. Their ceremony took place at Oasis Church in Waterloo and then after a stroll through some cool graffiti tunnels we ended up at Hawksmoor Restaurant. This was a very trendy place for a wedding. They served cocktails and steak. Two of my favourite things. Mike and Caroline had their own cocktails made for all the guests and I had the best burger I’ve had in my life (no cocktails though, I was working). The speeches were a highlight with the people giving the speeches standing at the top of a staircase with everyone else below. Caroline gave a really moving speech and even with her health not being great I was amazed that she kept on going all day and didn’t complain once. A real hero! On the dance floor there was a great moment when someone really got into Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” song and he dragged lots of other people into his dance too! Enjoy the images! Some are by James too.
Caroline emailed me to say “Hi Olly. Thanks so much for sending the photos through – we’ve just watched the slideshow and had a look at the others and they’re fantastic!! Particularly love all the brilliant photos of the kids which is what we were hoping for! And you’re right – Mike is grinning like a loon in pretty much every one! Thanks again for all your help and the amazing pictures!”
