I went out to Bochum in Germany to photograph Fabi & Charly’s wedding. I first met these two when I documented Fabi proposing to Charly on the Millennium Bridge in London 18 months ago! These two have a real love for London and had themed their wedding around it with a black cab and a tube map for a table plan. Spending the day with Fabi & Charly was amazing and one of my favourite parts of the day was their first look outside the building where they first met. It was full of emotion and Charly was crying happy tears. During the ceremony the Preist was telling the story about how these two got together and he mentioned me a couple of times, I smiled, I had no clue what he was saying in German! I scaled the really high Church tower after the ceremony and found going up easier than coming down. Because 2020 has been affected so much by covid I was checking infection rates and quarantine rules daily leading up to this wedding and I was just so relieved to get out there and photograph the wedding after all the planning! It also meant I got to photograph a real life dance floor and party for the first time in 2020! It felt like normal again! Fabi enjoyed the party a bit too much- his trousers completely split (but his Mum saved the day!) A huge thanks to Jim, who I mentor, for coming out with me and well done to the amazing videographer team Gabi & Flo and brilliant DJ Steel. Fabi said…
“There are so many brilliant photos you took. We love them! Your work is so fantastic! All our guests told us that they had so much fun with you! Once again- we are so happy that you photographed our wedding!”
