Phil & Emma had their wedding at The Black Horse Pub in Thurnham, Kent. I met Phil at Neal & Dee’s wedding that I photographed a few years back and Phil & Emma wanted a day that all their family and friends could enjoy together with games, good food and dancing. The Black Horse Pub has accommodation that lots of the wedding guests stayed in and I was able to cover the boys and the girls getting ready going from lodge to lodge. There was an outdoor ceremony in the gardens followed by garden games. There were lots of kids and babies at this wedding and the more weddings I’ve photographed the more I realise that these little people bring a huge amount of fun and spontaneity not only to the wedding day but to the photos too. There were kung fu kicks going on and one boy was dancing with a sausage roll on his head! Phil, Emma and I went exploring around the ruins of Thurnham Castle and the views from the top of the hill were beautiful. It was a pleasure working for such an easy going and relaxed couple and I hope you enjoy viewing m favourite frames from the day.
Phil & Emma said “We could not be happier with the photos of our wedding on 9th June!! We loved Olly’s photo style from a friends wedding so knew as soon as we got engaged that he was the guy for us. What we hadn’t expected – how friendly and personal the preparations in the lead up to the wedding would be, how excited for us Olly would be and how much it’d feel like having an old friend with us on the day. My mum has serious photo-phobia, I let Olly know about this and he made her feel at ease – and she loved the photos she was in too! My husband (!!) and I just can’t recommend Olly highly enough! Thanks Olly for being a true legend on our special day, and for capturing so many amazing moments, Em & Phil x”
