2016 has been full of incredible weddings for me to photograph. 30 to be exact (and still two more to come!) The photos you’ll see in the slideshow or below are my favourite 150 images I’ve taken this year at weddings in Kent and around the UK. I love being a documentary wedding photographer because capturing moments like these shown in the photos tells the true story of a wedding day. From standing on the top of a breathtaking rock formation as the sun set with Kris & Louise to jumping in a swimming pool with my camera at Steve & Amy’s wedding there’s been lots of fond memories this year. I remember crying as Alex’s Dad gave his Son a huge hug after he’d overcome the difficulty of giving his Groom’s speech with a speech impediment. I remember not being able to stop laughing after seeing Matt dancing with the family dog during the first dance. I look back and remember having a lump in my throat as a Father walked his Daughter down the aisle knowing he hadn’t got long to live. I remember shaking my head in disbelief when I looked out from the top of Canterbury Cathedral and saw the view as Pete & Liz were exchanging vows thinking “I can’t believe I get paid to do this”. This review of the year isn’t just to showcase my work, it’s also to say a huge thank you to the Brides and Grooms that have entrusted one of the most important aspects of their wedding day to me. I’ve never wanted to just be another “wedding supplier” for my couples. I’ve wanted to get to know them and I’m so pleased that I’ve made so many new friends this year. Thanks for supporting me during this year doing what I love to do. At the bottom of the page I added a photo of my beautiful Wife Kirsty, Caleb (who’s turned 4 and will go to school next year) and Rose (who’s turned 1 and has started to walk). I love them dearly and they inspire me every day.
