Joe & Poppy’s Wedding was at Richmond Hill Hotel in London. I arrived in the morning at the Hotel to cover Poppy getting ready with her Bridesmaids and family. They were praying together in the room as I arrived and there was a lovely moment when Poppy started to cry and her Mum and Bridesmaid both gripped her hands as they prayed for her. James came to photograph with me so he started the day photographing the chaps and guests arriving at Emmanuel Church in Wimbledon (some of the images below are his). During the ceremony there was beautiful light that came through the large Church windows and fell on Joe & Poppy. After the ceremony there was one of the wildest confetti throws that I’ve been part of. The guests formed a tunnel for Joe & Poppy to go along and there was so much of the confetti it took about 10 minutes to extract all the bits from Joe & Poppy’s hair afterwards (and my curly mop too!) It produced some great reactions and some of my favourite pictures from the day. I hopped in the car with Joe & Poppy to get some shots of them having a wander through one of the parks in Wimbledon then we went back to the Richmond Hill Hotel. Some moments from the evening were great as well like the speeches and guests reactions, the Grandparents going in the Photo Booth and the brilliantly choreographed first dance! I felt like I really got to know Joe & Poppy over the course of the day. They were a lot of fun and so welcoming to James and I. It felt like we were friends covering the day. I hope you enjoy some of my favourite images from the day.
